Four patients whose clinical presentations were consistent with GBS vulvovaginitisfrom whom GBS was isolated and for whom semi-quantitative as well as qualitative microbiologic data existed, were identified. She was treated with dextroamphetamine sulfate. Isolation of yeast-like fungi of the genus Candida was done by seeding of investigated appropriate dilutions of the material on solid nutrient Saburo medium. It perfectly correlates with the results from the conventional diagnostic tests so it could be selected as a method of choice for the diagnosis of vulvovaginal candidiasis.
