We also investigate the Sound Control section to better understand sound design with this synth. We also outline how to chain patterns together. We cover the parameters one by one so you can hear how it affects our sequence. We use Slide and Accent to get this to groove with the track. Rather than using MIDI, we use the internal sequencer to get the right melody, groove and vibe.

Finally we automate parameters to get the sound to develop and evolve during the track! These D16 Phoscyon Videos are designed for the new Phoscyon user, as well as for those who want more information on this powerful Phoscyon TB Bassline emulator.

Starting at the beginning, Larry reveals the D16 Phoscyon graphical user interface, all of its features, and how to navigate it. Tweet The organic sound of a tube amplifier being pushed into breakup has been the gold standard for as long as musicians have been experimenting with overdriven and distorted tones. The gentle, natural compression and rich blend of even and odd harmonics produced by analog tube circuitry makes any signal feel more powerful, punchy, and alive. Unlike solid-state transistor and fuzz circuits which only produce odd harmonics and limit the incoming signal in a subjectively unnatural and unresponsive way, Redoptor smoothly responds to the dynamics of the source material, just like a real tube amp. This means that loud signals get saturated with more crunch and delicious harmonics, then return to their clean state gradually as their release tail decays. This enables dynamic, sonically pleasing distortions. Exacting circuit emulation In addition to its spot-on modeling of hot vacuum tubes being pushed into glorious, creamy distortion, Redoptor packs several features that allow it to accurately mimic the behavior of complex analog circuit components in all their interactive, complimentary glory.

D16 Phoscyon review

Despite the crowded market, Polish newcomers D16 Group have seen fit to debut with Phoscyon, a curiously named TB clone with a few tricks up its sleeve. Though Phoscyon might not be a fantastically original idea, it does manage to pull a few surprises out of the bag. The most obvious, yet least consequential of these is the rather striking interface design. The photorealistic look works well and certainly sets it apart from the competition visually. Despite the large number of new knobs and switches the interface is pretty clear, and everything is logically laid out.
